BALLIN’ ON A BUDGET. (And because all makeup shouldn’t have to cost an arm and a leg.) A couple months ago I went out of town and completely forgot my makeup bag. I still have NO idea how that happened. So for a quick fix, I picked up some of my basics fully expecting to use them only a couple times. But I here I am, several months later, and still have these finds in my regular rotation.

Since I was at the beach, I picked this BB Cream as my base. I wanted LIGHT tinted coverage with SPF. I will still use this on days where I don’t want to wear foundation, anything with SPF will always be my daytime go-to because I have a lot of incidental sun exposure.

I have purchased this bronzer before so it was a no-brainer for me. I’ve always had good luck with Physician’s Formula and this product in particular not only complements my fair skin tone but it also smells REALLY GOOD.

I have heard a lot of good things about the Fit Me! products and since I didn’t want a foundation, I went with this blush from their line to test it out. I don’t usually buy blush or eyeshadows from drugstores because the color payoff is usually underwhelming but this blush is the exception to the rule. It is pigmented and easy to blend.

I had been told that this highlighter is a dupe for the Hourglass Ethereal Light so naturally I had to find out for myself. Final verdict is that it’s pretty damn close. It takes a little more product than I would use with Hourglass but the result is similar.

Of course I needed a setting spray because I was sweating my ass off on the beach (Florida, amiright?). I alternate this pretty regularly with my Urban Decay setting spray. I prefer the nozzle on this one, tbh – it has a finer mist that spreads out evenly. It also smells better than UD.

At my bridal shower, there was a “who knows the bride best?” game and one of the questions was, “What will Andrea never leave the house without?” Most people put cellphone. Correct answer was EYEBROWS. True story on both counts, even on a makeup free day I’m putting eyebrows on. This pomade works just as good as (maybe even better than) Benefit’s ka-Brow! AND it does. not. dry. out. ONE MORE TIME FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK: IT DOES NOT DRY OUT.

This mascara is my new #1. I see virtually no difference between drugstore mascara and high-end retail store mascaras. Well, except the price point. (Psst.. it’s a dupe for Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara) I use that one on my top lashes and then I use this one for my lower lashes when I feel extra fancy.

Speaking of lashes, these falsies are AMAZING. No, I did not wear these at the beach but they are still an awesome drugstore find so it still works. If you have hooded eyes like I do, you need a lash that’s lighter in the middle and then slightly heavier on the outer corner. This “Naked” line should be your go-to for strip lashes from now on, it’s certainly mine. I’ve used #421 (nighttime, more on the glam side) and #424 (daytime, wispier).

Keeping with the SPF theme, I used this gloss for my beach days. I found it to be light and moisturizing without being sticky. When I want a little more color payoff, I used this lip shimmer. It’s not too glittery and it has a nice sheen to it.
