As I’ve gotten older (yikes), skincare has become increasingly more important to me and an essential part of my daily routine. Admittedly, I incorporate a TON of other products into my regimen depending on the day or skincare needs and I do get routine facials, but these products are my tried and true go-tos that help maintain my skin between professional treatments. All of these products are linked + available at Sephora except for the Epiduo Forte which is prescription only. To note, I have oily skin and it’s the least sensitive thing on the planet so I need some hard-hitters to get the job done.
Mario Badescu Glycolic Foaming Cleanser – A resurfacing gel face wash that lathers nicely into a sudsy foam. I find this cleanser to be gentle and effective at removing my makeup and it does not strip my face of it’s natural oils. I alternate using this face wash with the Murad AHA/BHA + Renewing Cleansers shown above. When I’m feeling extra (everyday, all day), I use this with my Clarisonic Brush and there is a notable difference with my skin texture afterwards.
Murad Renewing Cleansing Cream – A creamy, moisturizing face wash that restores radiance. I use this wash on the days I want to skip exfoliating (cause I have been guilty of over-exfoliating in the past!) This wash does not suds up but don’t let that deter you, it is creamy and really delivers! Gentle enough to be used everyday, which is always a bonus!
Murad AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser – JOJOBA. SKIN. POLISHING. BEADS. (10 points to whoever knows what Jojoba is without googling.) A TRIO of acids : Salicylic, Glycolic, and Lactic – the real MVPs. This is my absolute favorite exfoliator and believe me, I have tested out almost every one on the planet (not really but close). I would use it everyday if I could but this will dry out your skin with overuse – hence why I have THREE different face washes on here. Hence.
Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil -I use this lip oil right before bed so I can moisturize all night. This oil was much thicker than other beauty oils I’ve used but I don’t mind it, it helps it last longer in my opinion! I have the raspberry color but it is essentially clear. Your lips need to be moisturized as much as the rest of your face, show them some TLC people!
Clarins Lotus Face Treatment Oil – A natural astringent for oily and combination skin. I was VERY hesitant to use a face oil since I already have enough of that happening on my face naturally, but this has really helped regulate oil production. I use this 2x/day – before makeup application in the morning and then it is the last part of my routine at night as it should be PATTED onto your face and not rubbed in. Also, it smells AMAZING.
IT Cosmetics Secret Sauce Moisturizer – Yes, this is the most expensive moisturizer I have ever used but it is MORE THAN worth it. It is a lightweight and luxurious feeling cream that includes anti-aging peptides, vitamin c, and hyaluronic acid. With oily skin, I tend to avoid thick creams – I feel like my skin can suffocate under heavy moisturizers, but this is not one of those! Best part? A little goes a long way so this jar lasts a LONG, LONG time. You need this moisturizer and if you don’t believe me, they have a mini-size so you can test the milk before you buy the cow (spoiler alert: you’re going to buy the cow).
Kopari Coconut Rose Toner – I love Kopari products and this toner is no exception. I will say, the smell isn’t my favorite combination but it’s not a dealbreaker. I spray this on my face first thing in morning after cleansing – it is light and refreshing and helps prep my skin for makeup application. I like to mist it onto my face and let it sit while I run through my morning routine before work, it absorbs well and has a very clean feeling. When I use it at night, I spray it on cleansing and then rub it into my skin before continuing with the rest of my routine.
OLEHENRIKSEN Truth Serum – A powerful Vitamin C serum that is fast absorbing, lightweight, and smells DELICIOUS. I apply this serum in the morning after my toner has set in and before the Lotus Oil. The serum is oil-free and helps brighten my complexion. Sephora also has a mini-size of this available along with other trial size OLE Vitamin C products that are exclusive to them so you won’t find them anywhere else.
Epiduo Forte – A prescription only adapalene, retinoid, and benzoyl peroxide gel that treats and prevents breakouts. THIS SHOULD NOT BE USED EVERYDAY. I can attest to that SO HARD. I am always so eager when I get a new product that I sometimes throw caution (my better judgement) to the wind and go crazy. This will dry out your skin FAST, so I only use it 2-3 times a week at night and a very small amount (dime-sized, if that). Always follow it with a moisturizer and wear your sunscreen if you apply it in the morning as it can increase your skin’s sensitivity to sunlight. Epiduo works better than any other prescription or over-the-counter breakout formulas I’ve tried so if this is a concern for you too, I highly recommend!
